Cecile Jacobs:
set designs and wall hangings
The Vale of Tears "The superb set design from Cecile Jacobs is a wonder..."
(Edmonton Journal)

96” high; 25” wide.

The River of Tears flows from its source (at the top) and creates a valley (vale). The river is fed by human misery and becomes broad and powerful. However, there is an ever-present hope and possibility of emerging more strongly from disaster; always a path of escaping towards positive ends, where good can come from bad, where positive powers (represented here by shafts of sunlight) can evaporate and disperse the tears. Washable by hand.
