A critically acclaimed, vibrant and colourful screen, created as part of the stage set for a production of the play Brief Lives set in the late 17th century. In addition to the artist’s usual techniques of appliqué, hand embroidery and fabric paint, the additional transfer of images was added. Thus, the screen depicts well-known personalities of the 16th and 17th centuries, set in the decorative forms of that period. The central panel depicts the English monarchs from Queen Elizabeth I to James II, together with their spouses. The left panel shows famous faces of the Tudor Period. The right panel show celebrities of the Stuart period. |
