32" x 32"

Worked on Cambodian silk where each square is a different colour, The embroidery colours used match the colours of the square. A band of gold was used before in Spirit of Life, to denote the limiting effect of money/ financial greed/ capitalism upon the soul of Man. Here the patterns and colours within the circle of gold obey nicely the conventional code: i.e., the colours laid down by the squares themselves. But they cannot spread their wings further because the haven't the courage to break the rules. Only the blue dares to be different. This has a ripple effect, allowing it to break out through the circle of gold into a purer (pearly white) world of its own creation where the colours and patterns are richer and self-perpetuating.
