The Yin-Yang represents completeness, harmony, balance and fulfillment. As such it has no need of extra adornment. Its elements, when separated, attempt unsuccessfully to reintegrate. They are unable to achieve their own inner fulfillment alone and disguise this with embellishments in an attempt to convince themselves and others of their superiority.
